The Hue of You: Personalised Coaching Strategies Utilising Colour
I’m often asked whether I’m a life coach or a business coach or a therapist. It’s an interesting question and one that is not that straight-forward to answer. My work gets right to the heart of it all and thus cuts across life and business. It is deep and soulful, experiential, reflective, healing and totally transformational so I’m told. I use a range of experience, techniques and modalities, but my work extends beyond traditional boundaries, and I don’t box people into specific areas. How we do anything is how we do everything. In other words, the way we think and feel affects everything we do from our work to our relationships to our connection to community and we must be in alignment to thrive. Nothing is separate and everything is connected, and I support individuals to see into the invisible spaces of their lives to help them to identify what’s really holding them back then provides strategies to clear that. One of the principal modalities I utilise is Colour Therapy which is built upon the psychology of colour and so much more.
In this post I want to give some focus to what working with colour is all about.
Colour therapy, also known as chromotherapy, is a complementary and alternative medicine practice that uses colours and light to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being bringing the body and mind into full coherence.
A state of coherence is the bringing together of different parts of yourself so that your actions and reactions are in harmony with one another. This state of unity allows you to respond rather than react in stressful situations, always think clearly, and see the world from a totally new perspective.
The basic principle behind colour therapy is that different colours have different wavelengths and frequencies, which can produce specific effects on the body and mind.
Here are some of the potential benefits of colour therapy:
1. Relaxation and stress reduction: Certain colours like blue, green, and violet are believed to have a calming effect on the mind and body, helping to reduce stress and anxiety levels.
2. Improved mood: Colours like yellow, orange, and red are recognised as energizing and uplifting, potentially improving mood and promoting feelings of happiness and positivity.
3. Mind: Body connection: Whether we realise it or not, our mind is always in a dialogue with our body. Just notice how your body feels when you are experiencing heavy emotions. As a result, colour therapy can help alleviate certain types of pain, such as headaches, muscle aches, and menstrual cramps, by stimulating the production of endorphins and promoting relaxation.
4. Better sleep: Colours like blue and indigo have a soothing effect on the mind and body, potentially promoting better sleep quality and reducing insomnia.
5. Increased energy levels: Bright colours like yellow and orange stimulate the mind and body, potentially increasing energy levels and improving concentration.
6. Impact on our creativity and overall resourcefulness: working with colour; specifically, the Colour Mirrors system, will increase your consciousness and this will provide profound opportunities to improve your ability to innovate, solve problems, think differently, hold more wisdom in the body and thus hear and listen to your own intuition. As shifts begin to happen whereby stagnant energy is transformed, clients typically undergo an integration process. The result leads to alignment and whole mind thinking. Intuitive intelligence becomes a lot more apparent.
7. Honest expression: working with colour helps us to speak up and express ourselves honestly and effectively so we can ensure we create a safe and harmonious space for ourselves.
Colour therapy can be administered in various ways, including exposure to coloured lights, wearing or surrounding yourself with coloured objects, using coloured glasses or filters or by bathing in the Colour Mirrors bathing oils and using the essences for immediate effect. It is often used in conjunction with other complementary therapies.
What is coloufull coaching and why is it different?
Colourfull (no it’s not misspelt but intended this way) coaching combines a traditional coaching approach with the use of the therapeutic Colour Mirrors oils and essences. As the name implies, it will fill you up! In other words, we focus on getting you in right relationship with yourself and from there moving you into right relationship with all other aspects in your life, your work, your family, your health, your purpose, your finances etc.
When your cup is full you are far better equipped to support others and live life as the adventure it is meant to be. Clients typically choose oils to work with monthly that resonate with their soul’s calling. This supports them to shift stagnant energy which results in clearing deep-seated patterns of behaviour that may have been imprinted since childhood, pre-birth, past life and/or family ancestral imprinting which has been passed down over generations. Examples might include the following:
1. An inability to make money/hold on to money
2. An inability to find/retain a loving partner
3. Fears and phobias of any kind; for example, visibility issues, fear of one’s own power, concerns about the future
4. Beliefs which restrict growth and ongoing development
5. Negative emotional states such as grief, sadness, anxiety
6. Obsessive thinking and behaviour
7. Impulsive acts
8. Fatalistic tendencies
9. Tendency to give your power away to others
Colourfull coaching is different in that it incorporates mind, body and soul. The soul is typically interested in fulfilling our deepest desires and if we do not meet them then we experience states of sadness and depression. The soul (the energy body) is typically ahead of the body in what it desires and typically the physical body holds fear about the unknown and uncertain path. Colourfull coaching will ensure an increase in intuitive intelligence and thus set you on the path of wisdom and conscious decision-making.
What is intuitive intelligence?
Intuitive intelligence refers to the ability to understand or know something immediately, without conscious reasoning or analysis. It's often described as a "gut feeling" or instinctive understanding. It really is spiritual intelligence.
Key aspects of intuitive intelligence include:
Rapid processing: Quick decision-making based on prior experiences and knowledge.
Pattern recognition: Identifying meaningful patterns in complex situations.
Emotional awareness: Understanding and using emotional cues effectively.
Holistic thinking: Seeing the big picture rather than focusing on individual details.
Subconscious information processing: Drawing on information stored in the subconscious mind.
Intuitive intelligence can be particularly useful in situations requiring quick decisions or when dealing with complex problems where analytical approaches may be time-consuming or impractical.
